Best Practice Initiative Award – Athens Open Classroom Conference 2015

We are happy to announce, that the EDEN Open Classroom Conference 2015 Best Practice Award goes to

  • Maria Argyropoulou, 4th General High School of Patras,
  • Ioannis Chiotelis, Experimental High School of University of Patras,
  • Maria Theodoropoulou and George Birbas, General High School of Pelopio, Greece

for their contribution “Implementing Innovative Learning Methods: Two schools examples“.  We congratulate the authors, whose well-elaborated paper has positioned the important issue of school modernisation. Read the Laudation below.

The paper highlights relevant points of the conceptual environment, offers a good selection of the two institutions compared, plays an important role and has proven to be relevant basis of the activities. The activities have been integrated in a wider strategic institutional development programme of the schools. The ICT tools were selected and used properly and in a professional, modern way, exploiting their best potentials. Several digital and online co-operative events have been rightly selected and carried out, in different complex themes. The activities produced valuable and sustainable activities amond the students and mobilised self-generated activities of their communities. 

The findings are not only interesting and carry pedagogical research value but also serve as good example to launch and implement good practice of ICT enhanced collaborative learning and institutional co-operation, with long term impact.
