The Executive Committee of the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) has been following with concerns the emerging uncertainties around Central European University’s continued operation in Budapest, Hungary. CEU has been a flagship institution in the modernisation of higher education, learning innovation and academic-professional excellence. These are values that are central to EDEN’s activities as well. CEU’s impact on the development of high quality university teaching has been substantial in Hungary and in the Central-European region. EDEN fully supports the efforts to maintain the continuity and consolidated operation of CEU and expresses solidarity with its faculty and students.
