Alan Tait, Pro Vice Chancellor (Curriculum and Awards), The Open University - United Kingdom

Alan Tait is Pro Vice Chancellor (Curriculum and Awards) at the Open University UK. He was Editor of the journal Open Learning from 1989-1998, joint Series Editor of the Routledge Series 'Studies in Distance Education', and Co-Director of the Cambridge International Conference on Open and Distance Learning. He has published widely in the field of open and distance learning, in particular in learner support, and has worked widely as a consultant. He is at present the Chief Editor of the European Journal of Open and Distance Learning (EURODL). Alan Tait, between 2002 and 2008, was Chair of the EDEN NAP Steering Committee and Vice-President of the Association. Since 2007 Alan Tait is president of EDEN.
