Rural Wings Closing ConferenceNearly 30 partner institutions' 48 months of hard work is coming to an end at the end of 2009. On 17-18 October the final conference of the 6th Framework Programme project, called Rural Wings, will be held in the Apollon Conference Hall in Piraeus, Greece. The event is co-organized by the Scientific Association of Primary Education Teachers for the dissemination of New Technologies in school practice. The partnership has already finished installing 110 pilot sites in 13 countries' rural areas all over the world, many of which are introduced in detail on the project's web site. Read the encouraging success stories of small communities that enhanced their multi-grade education and/or opened up their societies to show their treasures to the wide world by the use of modern satellite technologies. The outline of the Rural Wings scenarios, a collection of videos broadcasted over TV channels and the Internet and news about the Teachers Contest can also be read on the project's web site, while a selection of concrete scenarios within the 3 clusters (Learning @ Home, Learning @ School and Learning @ Work) as well as specific applications can be found under the e-Learning Tool menu.
