How can learning and technology concretely combine to produce an innovative Europe? How eLearning enables Lifelong Learning? How eLearning relates to innovation?
Lifelong Learning and ICT are two key enhancers of innovation, competitiveness, growth, social inclusion and cohesion, and eLearning has the possibility to become a powerful tool to orientate and integrate the potential of both towards innovation processes. From the HELIOS report, it appears that, while there is a huge potential for ICT to un-bind and multiply the opportunities of learning informally, most of the technology –enhanced learning research and policy concentrated on reproducing core characteristics of formal teaching environments in a technology supported way. The workshop will present the first results of the LEARNOVATION research activities, and will be thus aimed
- to present consolidated and emerging innovation paths in the different eLearning territories, with a focus on initial education and training, and
- to discuss emerging practices and how they are related to policy development and research agenda.
