Many theories have contributed to design an online course, such as Gagne’s nine levels, Garrison, Anderson and Archer’s Community of Inquiry, or even Siemens’s Connectivism. In 2003, Terry Anderson has theorized about the equivalency between student-student, student-content and student-teacher interactions. He named it the Interaction Equivalency Theorem. We foresee to bring contributions to the course design process, namely developing and delivering education that is cost affordable for all of us, based on the interaction intensity.
Pedro Manuel Barbosa Almeida Cabral is a Researcher in the Laboratory of Distance Education and e-Learning (LE@D), Universidade Aberta, Portugal, where he is developing projects related to digital and open education. He completed his PhD in Education, Distance Learning and e-Learning at Universidade Aberta in 2015. In the same year he moved to Delf University of Technology in the Netherlands as an e-Learning specialist where he developed various projects related to Massive Open Online Courses. Currently he is an invited Assistant Professor at Universidade Aberta.
#EDENChat is an online discussion event on Twitter initiated by Steering Committee of the EDEN Network of Academics and Professionals (NAP). It is mediated by members of the NAP community and runs for approximately 1 hour. Anyone can join in and contribute to the discussion which is presented in a Question and Answer format, and focuses on current issues in distance, open and e-learning. All sessions start at 18:00 CEST.
