#EDENChat: E-learning in the heritage sector

The next #EDENChat will take place on 6 March 2019 at 18:00 CET, and will be hosted by Chiara Zuanni (@kia_z) from the University of Graz, Austria. The session will focus on e-learning in the heritage sector, with a focus on museums. It will aim to prompt a discussion on the role of online collections and engagement practices in supporting school education and lifelong learning. It will also explore how social media communication contributes to the dissemination of digital museum content and thus the educational impact of this form of engagement. Chiara Zuanni is a tenure-track assistant professor in Digital Humanities at the Centre for Information Modelling – Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities at the University of Graz. Her research focuses on the construction and mediation of knowledge in museums, the impact of digital media on the heritage sector and its audiences, digital data practices in museums. She has a degree in Classics and a MA in Archaeology from the University of Bologna, and a PhD in Museology from the University of Manchester (2016), has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Liverpool and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Bergamo. She is a member of the Institute in Ancient Itineraries (2018-2019) and the Erasmus+ project ‘DigiCulture’ (2018-2021, coordinated by the University of Timisoara).


#EDENChat is an online discussion event on Twitter initiated by Steering Committee of the EDEN Network of Academics and Professionals (NAP). It is mediated by members of the NAP community and runs for approximately 1 hour. Anyone can join in and contribute to the discussion which is presented in a Question and Answer format, and focuses on current issues in distance, open and e-learning. All sessions start at 18:00 CET.
