The very high quality of the presentations and discussions held in Oxford this week made the EDENRW8 a tremendous success. In fact, the ongoing transformations taking place in the field of open, distance and digital learning are confronting the research community with a set of new and complex challenges. How we can do our things even better and also how we do better things is clearly the main question we need to respond to as researchers. Tony Bates will be giving a closer look to the... They Are Looking At Us

Last Sunday, the 26th October, the EDEN Executive Committee met for the 100th time, in Oxford. Looking at the EC at its very first meeting in Warsaw, in 1991, (picture in left) and in its most recent form, during the EDENRW8 (on the right), you're bound to find quite a few differences. The setting, the style options, the size of the group and even the gender balance are obviously not alike. The topics on the agenda were also... Read full post

Building A Roadmap

Looking Back To The Future

September 22, 2014 by Antonio Moreira Teixeira   Comments (0)

For the European education community, the end of the summer break represents always a time of starting over and of a cyclic new beginning. We tend to look forward in anticipation for the new academic year that is just beginning trying to determine what will come. This is a time for imagining and planning the future, of looking beyond our horizon. But, for me personally, these special late summer days represent also an important moment of reflection. After all, in our field of practice looking... Read full post

The EDEN Synergy workshop in Budapest (October 19th-21st) was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the 10th anniversary of eLene, a vibrant group of people and institutions who form a network and community of practice around e-learning related projects.

As one of the initiators of eLene, I had the honour and pleasure of telling the eLene story in the opening plenary earlier today.

Here is the text version of my speech:

"I'd like you to take your minds back to... Read full post

Those of you who know me might be surprised to learn that this is my very first blog post! I'm surprised myself, but now the EDEN NAP area has put this opportunity in my hands, I have no excuse to be absent from the blogosphere any longer. I also read with interest Steve Wheeler's convincing arguments for blogging, and so here I am!

Last week I was asked to contribute to the exciting project Gender-IT with the story of how, as a woman, I came to be involved in ICT. And this... Read full post

Prototype reflections

February 11, 2010 by Morten Flate Paulsen   Comments (1)

I have been testing the first prototype of the NAP-members area for some time and I'm really pleased with the development. I think it is an important strategic tool for EDEN.

The success of this service depends on several factors. Among them are:

Much public information

Many active members

Much quality content

Regular activities

Much useful features

Much public information

The NAP members decide if their information in the NAP members... Read full post
