Community Update

New Members of the EDEN Executive Committee

We are happy to announce that Dr. Ing. Diana Andone and Ebba Ossiannilsson, PhD, have been elected by the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Barcelona to serve as new members of the Executive Committee of EDEN from June 2015.

Collaboration Agreement signed between Contact North and EDEN

In June 2015, the collaboration agreement has been signed between the Ontario's Distance Education and Training Network - Contact North and EDEN. The aim of the collaboration is the development of strategic co-operation between the two organisations in order to enhance the serving of the students, the academics and professionals and the institutions which both organisations support in their provision of online learning.


Welcome to the Next 25 Years: EDEN Celebrates its Past, Present and Future - Guest post by Alan Tait on the President's Blog

Antonio Teixeira invited Alan Tait to share with us a brief account of the preparations of the EDEN's 25th Anniversary Year. Although still catching our breath from the #EDEN15 experience, we are already focusing on the preparation of the future. In fact, 2016 marks the celebrations of our association's 25th Anniversary. As it has been announced, a special honorary committee has been appointed with a past EDEN President, Alan Tait chairing it. The underlying idea for the celebrations is to honour the past of the Association as a dynamic history of the future. As such, EDEN will bridge the legacy of the men and women who so bravely established our field of practice and the new generations that will give it a new meaning. Read more...

Open Professional Collaboration for Innovation

The Newsletter of OpenPROF - Open Professional Collaboration for Innovation is now available. The project organises trainings of teachers and trainers and develops open educational resources (OERs) with open curriculum and licensing via open collaboration. OpenProf partners will create three training materials that help you to develop OER content. The first training material on Open Educational Resources and sustainability models is now available on the project web. Curricula and materials for OERs, 6 online courses, with resources developed or adapted various languages, ICT tools and innovative solutions will be developed and made available.
