Policy recommendations for learning analyticsThe LACE - Learning Analytics Community Exchange project continues to work on discussing important aspects of learning analytics (LA) and educational data mining (EDM) as well as to promote through a series of publications this field of educational research. In the fifth newsletter of the project there are two featured policy papers: one is a manifesto of LA in the workplace, the other is the result of several stakeholder discussions about the relationship between LA and policy and practice. |

In addition to the keynotes, all participants are invited to give a lightning talk (one slide, two minutes) about their work in order to widen the discussion about how learning analytics research is being put into practice across Europe. Helpful ICT solutions to help children with medical needsThe LeHo (Learning at Home and in the Hospital) project is successfully collecting and sharing good practices which include innovative technologies and methodologies in order to support the education of children with medical needs. The practices and other topic-related publications are available on the online hub. In the LeHo Newsletter (Issue 4), the recent report of LeHo includes the main activities of the project during its one and a half year run, and information can be found about the forthcoming key international events. |

New TALOE webinar: “Mind the Gap! Perceptual differences and learning”A new webinar “Mind the Gap! Perceptual differences and learning” is due on 16 September, 2015 at 11.00 CET, as part of the TALOE webinar series “Talks on e-assessment and learning outcomes”. The lecturer will be Steve Wheeler, Plymouth University. He is going to discuss different gaps teachers and students face every day – generational gaps, gaps in understanding, expectation gaps, gaps in literacy, intention gaps – which can be widened or narrowed by using technology. He also explores flipped roles, digital assessment and technology enhanced learning in his presentation.

Exploring eLearning: the first national event on e-learning for companies1-2 December, Milan Fabio Nascimbeni, member of the EDEN Executive Committee, will give a plenary speech at the 'Exploring eLearning' conference in Milan. The event is aimed at addressing the current challenges of organisations and companies: getting rid of traditional, and now inadequate, e-learning models, and focusing programmes on digital innovation with a strategic approach. Innovation will also be applied to the format of this event: no paper or speakers, 36 multimedia posters, within an area of 2,000 square metres in the centre of Milan, to explore the major innovations in the field of e-learning, implemented on a national and international scale.
