Does good evidence make good education policy?Tests, indicators and monitoring systems should not come at the expense of the joy of learning. Perhaps it is time to consider whether the explosion of assessment tests as a basis for quantitative evidence-based policy making and accountability comes at too high a cost. SAVE THE DATE: Preparing Higher Education leaders to become the change makers of the university of tomorrowUniversitat Oberta de Catalunya, Barcelona, 14-18 November 2016 The 1st D-TRANSFORM Leadership School will be a unique opportunity to update leaders and senior managers in European higher education institutions with knowledge, skills and attitudes which they need to have in order to make effective decisions about the use of digital techniques in learning and teaching, drawing on expert presenters including from innovative universities. Erasmus+ Annual SurveyLLL Platform launched the Erasmus+ Survey 2016 for an annual review of the Erasmus+ programme implementation and to share its results with policy-makers to enhance the application process and the content of the programme. This survey is to evaluate how beneficiaries have experienced the 2nd round of applications of the Erasmus+ programme: what do they think of Erasmus+? Are you satisfied with its new features? What problems did you encounter? What suggestions for improvement would you make? The survey can be answered in English, French and German. Deadline to reply is 15 September 2016 |

Student AnalyticsThe OUUK Institute of Educational Technology currently runs a module based survey to gather feedback from tudents on their study experience. They are looking to identify good practice within the higher education open and distance sector, regarding student feedback approaches at both a modular and qualification level. They invite EDEN colleagues from comparable institutional settings to share useful examples and approaches. Please contact Rebecca.galley@open.ac.uk. The end result will be a fairly light touch survey instrument, which can be flexibly applied through the academic student journey and will gather feedback on both the academic study experience and study support services. |
