Forging new pathways of research and innovation in open and distance learning: Reaching from the roots


The EDEN Secretariat is now taking care of the registration for the Research Workshop. Please visit the Online Registration Form to join the event.


The registration fee includes access to all conference facilities, the electronic Conference Proceedings, the Welcome Cocktail, lunches and refreshments during the conference days. The fee does not include accommodation and the conference dinner.

Authors of contributions accepted for presentation can benefit from a reduced fee.

Late submissions welcome

The online submission is now closed, however if you would like to send a late submission, please contact the conference secretariat to inquire about opportunities.

Young Scholar Support Scheme

If you are full-time regular or PhD student, or early researcher making first steps with a conference paper and your paper has been accepted for presentation, you are eligible for a 600-Euro grant made available by the Ulrich Bernath Foundation for Research in Open and Distance Learning. Logo Design Contest - final call

As part of EDEN’s 25th anniversary celebration activities EDEN launched an EDEN Logo Design Contest with the aim to allow our professional community to take an active part in the development of our Association’s new look. SAVE THE DATE: Preparing Higher Education leaders to become the change makers of the university of tomorrow

Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Barcelona, 14-18 November 2016

The 1st D-TRANSFORM Leadership School will be a unique opportunity to update leaders and senior managers in European higher education institutions with knowledge, skills and attitudes which they need to have in order to make effective decisions about the use of digital techniques in learning and teaching, drawing on expert presenters including from innovative universities.

Erasmus+ Annual Survey

LLL Platform launched the Erasmus+ Survey 2016 for an annual review of the Erasmus+ programme implementation and to share its results with policy-makers to enhance the application process and the content of the programme.

This survey is to evaluate how beneficiaries have experienced the 2nd round of applications of the Erasmus+ programme: what do they think of Erasmus+? Are you satisfied with its new features? What problems did you encounter? What suggestions for improvement would you make?

The survey can be answered in English, French and German. Deadline to reply is 15 September 2016


Student Analytics

The OUUK Institute of Educational Technology currently runs a module based survey to gather feedback from tudents on their study experience. They are looking to identify good practice within the higher education open and distance sector, regarding student feedback approaches at both a modular and qualification level.

The end result will be a fairly light touch survey instrument, which can be flexibly applied through the academic student journey and will gather feedback on both the academic study experience and study support services.

Call for proposals: Study on models for open, online, flexible and technology enhanced higher education
