With over 200 contributions submitted for the Call, we look forward to a great event, organised in co-operation with the Norwegian Association for Distance and Flexible Education who will have their special strand during the conference. Delegates can meet the Nordic academic and professional community in e-learning, one of the best in Europe.
The EDEN Secretariat is taking care of the registration for the 2013 Annual Conference. Please, visit the Registration menu on the web and use the Online Registration Form to join the event. All attendees (presenting or visiting) are expected to register.
Online submission is closed. With eventual justified requests to send a late contribution, please contact the Conference Secretariat.

EDEN and IGIP Signed AgreementIt is our pleasure to announce that the International Society of Engineering Education (IGIP) and EDEN agreed to establish a special co-operation including a reciprocal membership agreement. Following the EDEN Executive Committee meeting in January, the two organisations signed a mutual agreement of collaboration with the aim of exploiting the synergies in international co-operation, and to share expertise, ideas and solutions. |

Decisions of the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport's CouncilOn 15th February 2013 the 27 Education, Youth and Culture Ministers of the European Union adopted their conclusions on investment in education and training in response to the annual growth survey and the conclusions of the European Council. „The Commission highlighted in particular the importance of the initiative (...) soon to be implemented: the Agenda for modernizing education and training through ICT tools." Digital Competence in practice: An analysis of frameworksAuthor: Anusca Ferrari, European Commission This reports aims to identify, select and analyse current frameworks for the development of digital competence. Its objective is to understand how digital competence is currently understood and implemented in fifteen cases, drawn from school curricula, implementation initiatives, certification schemes and academic papers. It develops a proposal for a common understanding of digital competence and identifies the sub-competences that compose it. Report is dowloadable here. |

Open Discovery Space - National Ministry SurveyThe Open Discovery Space (ODS) partnership is conducting an overview of regional, national, European and International policies in the educational sector, highlighting policies which are thought to accelerate or hinder the adoption of eLearning Resources and their integration into national curricula. This work has an EU focus predominantly, but also addresses relevant international innovations. Contributions for the related survey (takes only a few minutes to answer) from national policy experts, in particular from Ministries / Governmental organisations are invited. EMPORT - Improve employability and enhance European competitiveness through the acquisition of language and cultural competences in PortugueseEMPORT is a project financed by European Commission and aimed at improvising the employability of European citizens and enhancing competitiveness of companies, by means of acquisition of language and cultural competences in Portuguese Language and Culture. The course will include the expressions and pronunciation used not only in Portugal, but also in Brazil and other Portuguese speaking countries. A totally interactive approach will be used, including the most up to day multimedia resources (animations, games, video, drawings...) in order to facilitate the learning process, being built with an interactive approach. Teachers' Guide to Open Educational Resources (OERs)ODS Summer School 2013 called "Teachers guide to OER" will be held in Split, Croatia from 9th to 13th September 2013. Summer School will be organised by Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet, a national leader in ICT based education and e-learning. The aim of this Summer School is not only to inform teachers about the latest trends in use of open education resources, but also to rethink what are the best ways for every teacher to apply OER in every day work. Our goal is to help every teacher optimise the use of OER according to their particular curricula and according to the needs of their pupils. |

Teachers as leverages for Lifelong Learning - A European Qulification for Teachers Competences in Inspiring Lifelong Learning18 March 2013, European Parliament, Brussels The LLWINGS project is an effort at European level that wants to contribute to better teaching in Europe, by proposing a shared European teacher competence framework which relate to the area of “lifelong learning oriented teaching” as well as an associated certificate which can attest a teacher has acquired those competences.
