The eLene2learn and DigiSkills projects (both co-funded by the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme) have planned since their application phase to deliver their semi-autonomous events in the autumn of 2013, in the frames of a special conference organised by EDEN for (mainly but not exclusively) stakeholders representing (secondary) school level education.

The eLene2learn’s Transnational Workshop (with a particular focus on the implications for secondary education) aims to bring together participants from several Member States to exchange ideas and experience relating to the approaches they are implementing or planning to implement, based on experiences in (A) learning to learn with social networks, (B) learning to learn with digital media, serious games and virtual worlds and (C) learning to learn with ePortfolios and blogs.

The DigiSkills’ Best Practice Exchange Forum, on the other hand, is going to facilitate the collection of case studies and best practices that effectively promote innovative teaching and learning good practices. This part of the Workshop, open to SE, HE and AE teachers from the European countries, shall operate as the frame for the collection and formation of exceptional teaching and learning approaches, offering the opportunity to teachers from different countries to interact, discuss and exchange. The overall findings will be published in a collective report on best practices.

To take maximum advantage of this unique, first of its kind conference, and to ensure high visibility and attendance, other EU projects (that are displaying thematic cross sections with eLene2learn and DigiSkills) were also invited to deliver presentations/workshops and engage in collaborative activities. Two projects in particular, POERUP and Open Discovery Space (EDEN is partner in both), are willing to play a special co-hosting role and organise a dedicated OER strand during the conference dates. In addition to these 4 major projects over 15 other initiatives have also been approached or expressed their interest at participating/presenting at the conference, suggesting that the event will have a large and diverse audience with great potential to disseminate results, exchange know-how and practices, and develop new collaborations.
