The I-TUTOR project consortium invites you to the I-TUTOR workshop titled Artificial Intelligence and Learning: an Evolving Relationship, organized within the frame of the SIREM conference in Bari, Italy on 13 November 2013.
The workshop explores the ongoing relationship between learning and technologies including the development and use of intelligent systems and agents supporting online learning at all levels of education and training. This relationship underpins a major issue: the integration of pedagogical and didactical instances and software design and development. Research areas as computer science, engineering, pedagogy and didactics are asked to jointly design and develop new ways to integrate technology in learning, where technology, far of being a way of delivery, is embedded in the pedagogical and didactical approach.
An Intelligent Tutoring System, the result of the I-TUTOR Intelligent Tutoring for Life Long Learning project, will also be presented. The application is able to monitor, track, analyze and give formative assessment and feedback loop to students within the learning environment, and give inputs to tutors and teachers involved in distance learning. It is developed in java thus easily implemented and re-used in most of the common free platforms for eLearning. The tool was tested and validated in Italy, Hungary and Greece. The workshop attendees will have a unique opportunity to see the demonstration of its use by the developers and also get to know the rationale behind it.
The workshop takes place in the afternoon of 13 November 2013 – University of Bari, Italy, Centro Polifunzionale per studenti (Ex Palazzo delle poste) Università degli Studi di Bari – Piazza Cesare Battist.
