The Conference Venue:
University Hall (Universiteithall) Naamsestraat 22, 3000 Leuven, Belgium

University Hall is located in the very heart of Leuven historical center close to the Grote Markt.

HOW TO REACH THE CONFERENCE VENUE

By plane
When you arrive at the airport of Brussels Airport you can take an express train to Leuven.
You have to go to floor -2. Here you will find the train station of Brussels Airport.
You can take a train from 5:17 am to 11:39 pm.
The train leaves every hour at x:17 or x:39.
The rail journey takes about 15 minutes.

Warning: Do not take the train to Louvain-La-Neuve. Louvain-La-Neuve is a different university in a different town in the French speaking part of Belgium.

By train
France – Leuven
If you come from France, the easiest way to travel to Leuven is with the Thalys.
The majority of the trains leaves from the North of Paris and arrive at Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid.
When you are in Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid it is very easy to take another train to Leuven.
This rail journey from Paris to Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid takes about 2 hours.

Germany – Leuven
If you come from Germany, you can take the ICE or Thalys.

This train leaves mainly from Düsseldorf and stops in Köln. From Köln you can take another train to Liège-Guillemins. From Liège-Guillemins you can take a train to Leuven.
This rail journey from Köln to Leuven takes about 2 hours and a half.

The Netherlands – Leuven
If you have to travel from the Netherlands, you can take an IR or IC train. You will arrive in Antwerp, Mechelen or Brussels. From these cities you can easily take a train to Leuven.
If you leave from Amsterdam, this train journey will take about 3 hours and a half.

The U.K. – Leuven
Eurostar will help you travel easily between London and Leuven.

The train will arrive in Bruxelles-Midi. From Bruxelles-Midi you can take a train to Leuven.
You have to consider that your journey will take about 3 hours.

By car
For more information on reaching Leuven by car, see www.kuleuven.be/transportation. Parking places are offered 10-15 minutes walking from the University Hall.

Public transportation
The public transport company De Lijn has a number of bus lines through Leuven. Centre of their network is the Train Station and the stop at the Fochplein. Since distances are not that big, you won’t really need public transport. There is no subway or tram line.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Registration desk
The registration desk will be located in the foyer at the entrance of Jubileumzaal  in the Universiteithall. The registration desk will open on Sunday 21st October at 16.00h and close at 18.00. Delegates are advised to register and pick up their conference materials before the Welcome Cocktail.

Registration desk service hours:

Monday 22nd October: from 8.00 to 19.00
Tuesday 23rd October: from 8.00 to 17.00

Welcome Cocktail – City Hall
Sunday 21st October, the Welcome Cocktail will start at 19.00h. Wine and refreshments, chips and finger-foods will be served in a friendly atmosphere in the City Hall.

Conference Dinner – Faculty Club
Address: Groot Begijnhof 14, 3000 Leuven

The Dinner on 22 October at 19.30 pm will be situated in the Faculty Club in Leuven in a unique historic setting.
For delegates who have booked for the event. Tickets will be handed over upon registration.
Booking for the dinner, which fee is € 75/person, is possible through the on-line registration form. Payment should be prearranged by bank transfer. We regret that no booking will be possible on site.
