The Conference offers a great opportunity to socalize and network in an informal setting as well. This page provides you information on the Welcome Reception, the Book and Wine Party to take place on the first day of the Conference and on the Conference Dinner in the evening of 12 June.

Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will take place on 10 June in the Botanical Garden of the University of Zagreb.

At the reception you can start preparing yourself at the event. Meet the EDEN fellows, Board and NAP members, Secretariat staff who can help you to find out best how to exploit the event. The pleasant surroundings will ensure inspiration for intellectual exploration dialogue learning-partnerships and collaboration. The EDEN fellow award will be presented during the reception.

Book and Wine Party

It has developed into tradition of the EDEN Conferences to organise a gathering in the end of the first day (11 June) for the lovers of literature and good wines where they can share by short presentations their latest interesting reading experience. Please contact Ama Auvinen if you are interested to join as speaker. Everyone is welcome to listen and discuss over a glass of wine!

Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner on 12 June, with entertainment, will be organised in Restaurant Okrugljak, probably one of the most authentic from among Zagreb restaurants and certainly one of the most traditional establishments in the north of Croatia.

                      
 

The Dinner is combined with a folklore programme at the beginning, and it has an additional charge of 55 € per person. The EDEN Best Research Paper Award will be presented at the event.
Bus transport to the venue (included in the dinner fee) will be organised from the conference venue.

Sightseeing

On Friday, 13 June, after the conference, a free 2-hour walking sightseeing will be organized for the Conference participants on behalf of the City of Zagreb starting from the Ban Jelacic Square. The walking tour will take you from the central square to the Kaptol, than to the Dolac Marketplace and the Upper Town (Gradec) where you will learn about the history of Zagreb. The route will take you also to the St. Mark square and the St. Mark church with its beautiful roof on which tiles represent the coat of arms of Zagreb and Triune Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia.
