Education online in 2020 and 2030 – Martin Dougiamas Keynote & Co-chaired Open EdTech session

Keynote – Monday 22nd June between 10:00 – 10:30 CET

Distance education is a field with decades of research and practice, spreading slowly through the world’s education systems.  Suddenly in 2020, when over 90% of school children have had to stay home during a pandemic, there’s been a rush to “get classes online” that have often ignored a lot of this research and development.

In this presentation, Martin will look at how some of these legacy tools have been used, what has emerged as some of the most important things that people are using (and not using), and what kinds of demands are being made of Moodle.

Looking forward another ten years, we’ll talk about where education technologies could go, to fully support teaching online with high levels of quality on a global scale.

The keynote will be followed with an Open EdTech session with Diana Andone.
