EDEN 2021 Virtual Annual General Meeting Announcement

Dear EDEN Member,

You are kindly invited to join the EDEN 2021, Annual General Meeting of our Association, held in the framework of the EDEN 2021 Virtual Annual Conference – UNED-Madrid on Monday, 21 June, 16:30 CEST.

The AGM has always been of great importance for our community, traditionally being embedded in our Annual Conferences. Due to pandemic restrictions being still in force in most countries, the 2021 Annual General Meeting will be organised as an online event.
The date has been convened on “Day Zero” of the EDEN 2021 Virtual Annual Conference (21-24 June).

I would like to draw your attention to the Election of officers. This year two vacancies are announced. If you are an institutional member and would like to nominate any eligible person for the vacancies, please send your nomination to the EDEN Secretariat e-mail: secretariat@eden-online.org. Notice should be accompanied by a written statement from the candidate confirming that he/she would be ready to serve, if elected, as member of the Board of Directors of the European Distance and E-Learning Network Ltd., UK. 
 As for the nominations, the EDEN Constitution applies: “Every voting member of the Institution Section has the right to nominate candidates for election to the Executive Committee. The invitation for nominations shall be included with the announcement of the Annual General Meeting. The Executive Committee shall see that there are nominations of at least one candidate for each of the vacant seats. No person other than an Executive Committee member retiring at the meeting shall be eligible for election to the Executive Committee at any general meeting unless not less than 3 or more than 21 days before the date set for the meeting notice in writing has been sent to the Secretariat Office. The notice must be signed by a member qualified to attend and vote at the meeting for which notice is given of the intention to propose such a person for election, and notice must also be given in writing by that person of their willingness to be elected.”
