Reflecting On Today’s Mobile Learning

Current technological developments are pushing us in the direction of ever more flexible, hybrid, personalised and mobile communication and work environments. This trend is naturally changing the scenarios in education. EDEN has been following these developments closely since the beginning. In one of his posts in the President’s Blog, former President and my good friend Morten Paulsen has already reflected on the tremendous potential of these transformations. However, this ongoing movement requires a permanent monitoring and continuous reflection from us. Mobile devices have become so popular that this will necessarily lead to mobile learning becoming a mainstream form of education delivery. Thus, we need to reflect more deeply on what this implies.

In today’s guest post, I’ve invited my colleague at EDEN’s Executive Committee Grainne Conole, one of the world’s leading researchers in digital education, to share with us her insights on the current situation and development scenarios of mobile learning.
