This Strategic Partnership project aims to be a contribution to the modernisation of Europe’s higher education systems as outlined in the 2011 EU Modernisation agenda. Among key targets outlined by the Commission, D-TRANSFORM takes into account the need for: 1. improving the quality and relevance of higher education (HE) through new technologies and more flexible and personalized teaching and 2. increasing investment in HE, through more diversified and flexible funding sources (drawing to a larger extent on private funding). The goal of the project is to implement a training program for leaders of European universities (presidents, vice-presidents) focusing on the major role played by digital technologies (MOOCS, etc.) and Open Educational Resources (OER) in the necessary transformation of their institutions.
