Milestone reached in developing an European approach to micro-credentials

The Micro-credentials Higher Education Consultation Group presented the final report on the European approach to micro-credentials to Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth on an online meeting with on Monday 14 December

EDEN senior representatives Mark Brown (Executive Committee) and Ferenc Tátrai (Senior Advisor) as members of the Consulting group took part in the work and attended the meeting.

The full report and its executive summary are published on the Europa website’s  new webpage on micro-credentials, including the roadmap of actions, and the background reports for the first and third meeting of the group. The Network of Experts working on the Social dimension of Education and Training (NESET) has also finalised its study on micro-credentials, which you can find also on this same webpage. 

These rich outputs will feed into wider consultations covering all sectors of education and training to prepare a Council Recommendation on micro-credentials for lifelong learning and employability, by the end of 2021.
