Abstract

The structural and system-level determinants of the European institutional strategy and practice of lifelong learning (LLL in higher education). Knowledge production and innovation are important drives of economic growth in the 21st century. Higher education forms its role along new conceptional and operative standards in order to meet challenges. Fundamental, ongoing and embedded commitments are taking social responsibility, the improvement of quality, enhancing performance and providing “best value”.
