In case, you are a NAP nominee you can ask the document from your institutional contact person, however you will also find it at the password protected NAP members’area on the homepage. If you would need assistance for the password, please ask the EDEN Secretariat.

2. We are delighted to inform that the ongoing interest towards EDEN membership resulted that we have reached the number of 130 for institutional members and 650 for NAP delegates. You can see members recently joined in the "Welcoming new members" section of the EDEN website.

3. The present NAP - Network of Academics and Professionals Steering Committee was elected early 2002 and took its office in March that year for a period of three years, therefore their term of office will be terminated in the first quarter of 2005. According to the Constitution, a new Steering Group should be elected and the call for nominations should be announced not later than four month before the new Committee members are to take up their office. The EDEN Executive Committee at their last meeting have discussed the proposal for the procedure of the election and resolved to circulate the Call for Nominations late November 2004.

You will receive the complete description of the procedure and the timeschedule to be followed – similarly as in 2002 – electronically. The ballot itself will also be organised in electronic way. With this pre-announcement we would like to encourage members to start thinking of potential nominees to the Steering Committee, whose main task to develop and further strengthen NAP as a meeting and communication forum of the members.

4. It is our pleasure to report that EURODL – European Journal of Open and Distance Learning, revitalised this Spring, is attracting considerable attention and a number of new submissions can be read on the website at: www.eurodl.org. Following recent successful refereeing, in October four new articles have been published.
