2. New Members

3. Global Forum on Cross-Border Higher Education, 2009

The Observatory on Borderless Higher Education will host its 2009 Global Forum entitled "Global Connections – Local Impacts: Best Practices, Models and Policies for Cross-Border Higher Education," in Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia, 21-24 October 2009.

The Forum promises to be a highly engaging professional venue for global colleagues to exchange ideas, strategies, and best practices about internationalism and cross-border higher education.

The Call for Papers is currently available on the Observatory’s new website and also can be read on this link. Further information about registration and the Forum’s programme will be available in early 2009.

Deadline for receiving the contributions is 21 March 2009.

4. KEYLINKS survey to raise the quality of project management

Within the Grundtvig project KEYLINKS is intended to raise the quality of project management education and training by defining standards. On this purpose a survey is being made to ask specialists, project managers and experts from different institutions in all European Union countries who have participated in differing roles in "EU projects" (for example projects funded within EU programmes or national/regional funding programmes) to share their experiences in project planning and management.

You are kindly invited to share your expertise and experiences and support this Europe-wide study by filling in our online survey form. Please follow the link – it will only take you 15 to 20 minutes!

5. EUQIPE Plus project – EUCEN

EQUIPE Plus is a project network of 33 university partners, represented by their lifelong learning expert, and has been funded under Grundtvig 4 of the European Socrates programme. Launched in October 2005 it was coordinated by EUCEN (the European University Continuing Education Network) and built on the work of the successful EQUIPE Network (2002 – 2005).

6. New Skills of New Jobs - new EU Communication

The European Commission has released its much anticipated communication: New skills for new jobs. Anticipating and matching labour market and skills needs. In case you are interested in this field, communication and the staff working document can be read here.

7. Call for papers: New Learning Generation

eLearning Papers looks contributions on "New Learning Generation". The invited editor of this issue is Mr. Yves Punie, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies, European Commission.

This issue on the "new learning generation" and on "new ways of learning" enabled by ICT seeks to bring together evidence, practice and/or theories on the key elements of this emerging new learning landscape.
