In
the 20th Anniversary Year of EDEN, the Annual Conference
will take place in Dublin, 19-22 June at the University
College of Dublin.

from all of Europe and other continents was overwhelming,
and with the outstanding keynotes and the high number

very successful conference.

The
Conference Dinner on 21 June, with entertainment, will
be organised in the famous Guiness
Storehouse, designed
in the shape of a giant pint of Guiness. The evening
includes a guided visit at the end of which, on reaching
the head of the pint, the Gravity Bar, you can enjoy
the unique spectacular view across Dublin.
The
Annual General Meeting will take place in the evening
of Monday, 20 June. The official invitation with supporting
documents will be sent to members in due time.

of EDEN NAP Steering Committee 2011 - Ballot
is open
With
the expiration of the term of office, the present
NAP Steering Committee
is subject of
election that shall take place by electronic voting.

valid nominations were received at the Secretariat
to the NAP Steering Committee by 7 March

on Creativity and Open Educational Resources (OER)

The
14th Cambridge
International Conference on Open, Distance
and Elearning will be organised 25-28 September
2011.
This highly regarded biennial conference takes as its theme in 2011 "Internationalisation
and Social Justice: the role of Open, Distance and Elearning".
Papers can be accepted until 1 May and an early bird full registration fee is
available until 1 April 2011. Full details and themes can be found on the conference

Since
2002 the Faculty of Psychology and Education of the
EDEN member University
of Liege in Belgium has been
organizing an Advanced Master in Higher Education
Pedagogy called Formasup.
This postgraduate training programme aims to enhance
the quality of higher education by professionalizing
its actors and can be attended fully online in English.
UOC - Open University of
Catalonia
The Open University of
Catalonia awarded
Brenda Gourley an honorary
doctorate, in recognition of her
individual
merits and labours. Professor Brenda Gourley was Vice-Chancellor
and CEO of The Open University in the United Kingdom
from 2002 to 2009.

seminar, EdReNe - Educational
Repositories Network18 - 19 May 2011, The Hague,
Netherlands The EdReNe thematic network invites members
and interested stakeholders to the
network's 6th seminar on repositories of learning resources.
The
overall theme of the seminar is Quality, divided
into three categories: i) Quality in metadata, ii)
Quality in usefulness and iii) Quality in relevance.

- EDUMIGROM,
a research project on 'Ethnic Differences in Education
and Diverging Prospects for Urban Youth in an Enlarged
Europe',
conducted between March 2008 - March 2011, studied
how ethnic differences in education contribute to
the diverging prospects for minority ethnic youth
and their peers
in urban settings.
The research initiative concluded with a conference held at Central
European University, Budapest, in February 2011. The conference
