Erasmus programme in 2011-12: the figures explainedThe European Commission has published new figures on the number of students, teachers and other staff in higher education who benefitted from the Erasmus programme in the 2011-12 academic year. 252 827 European students and 46 527 staff in higher education received Erasmus funding to go abroad for studies, job placements, teaching or training. The 1st Moscow International Salon of Education (MSE)Moscow, Russia (31 October - 3 November, 2013) EDEN member institution, Moscow State University of Economics, Statistics and Informatics (MESI), is inviting you to take part in The 1st Moscow International Salon of Education (MSE) which will be held in Moscow, Russia, from 31 October to 3 November 2013 by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow and the Moscow Department of Education. The business program of the Salon includes among others “Education 3.0” International Exhibition and the Conference “Digital educational environment: technologies, concepts, resources and services” which will be co-organized by MESI.

News from Open Universidade de CataluniaTwo IMS-GLC award-winning UOC appsTwo mobile applications developed by the UOC's Office of Learning Technologies have won awards in an international competition organized by the IMS Global Learning Consortium, an institution that works to develop technologies that improve open and online learning around the world. From among all the tools presented, the IMS's jury selected the eight best two of which are from the UOC: CloudTime and Tandem. CloudTime is a tool developed to support engineering subjects that lets faculty create virtual cloud-based machines for students to use for practicals involving programming, operating systems and other tasks. There is a video about the tool .Tandem is one of the SpeakApps tools. It is a mini content manager that lets students work on a range of contents in parallel and remotely.
