Technology and Learning in Support of Home Carers: CARER+ Newsletter 3

ICT-supported learning is now present in everyday life and is a meaningful method to further develop skills and competences. The CARER+ project uses Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) supported learning to prepare care workers for improving the quality of life for people who require care in their homes. The project's Third Newsletter reports on the programme's mentor training and activities around project results as well as interesting news such as the birth of European Federation for Family Employment (EFFE) and the 1st Silver Economy Expo in Paris.

Professional Development of Care Workers Facing New Challenges in the Digital Age: careNET Newsletter

The careNET consortium created the Map of domains for common and specific digital competences for domiciliary care workers and care recipients aged 65+ years. The result of an analysis and description is following the collaborative exercises in outlining the methodological bottom-up approach.

CareNET focuses on social inclusion through the development of ICT competences for care recipients above the age of 65 years in long term domiciliary care and care workers. Care workers’ care for elderly people goes beyond helping with cleaning, cooking and other daily tasks. Care workers need their vocational competences to be developed, competences in relation to enabling care recipients use ICT.
