Location

The main conference venue is located in the Hypo Centre business building considered one of the most attractive centres in Croatia, providing an excellent setting for the event with professional facilities. Some sessions are scheduled at the neighbouring SRCE premises.

Zagreb by airplane

Zagreb Airport known as ‘Pleso Airport’ is the main Croatian international airport, a 17 km drive southeast of Zagreb in the suburb of Pleso. Airport Zagreb – Zagreb Bus Station direct bus line (Pleso Tours): one way ticket price is 30 HRK / 4 €. For schedule you can visit Pleso Transport Company website. There are also taxi ranks at the airport, the usual fare from the airport to the city centre is around 20-30 €.

Zagreb by train

The railway station is located in the city centre. Further information including map, timetable and prices can be found here.

Public transport in Zagreb

The inner parts of the city are mostly covered by trams, the outer city areas and closer suburbs are linked with busesand rapid transit commuter rail. The funicular (uspinja?a) in the historic part of the city is a tourist attraction. Paper tickets bought at kiosks and electronic tickets purchased via SMS (with Croatian SIM card) cost 12 HRK / 1.60 €. If you buy a ticket from the driver, you’ll pay 15 HRK / 2.00 €.  Tickets are valid for 90 minutes in one direction.
Further information

For sightseeing and free entry to all city transport, there is a special ticket known as Zagreb card valid for 24 or 72 hours. The cheapest option to explore city center is bicycle, which are also available on rent in the city.

Taxis

You can call a taxi to pick you up, or there are three taxi stands within walking distance of Trg Bana Jelacica, Zagreb’s main square: just south of Flower Square (Cvjetni trg), on Mesnica Street, heading toward the Upper Town, and just west of the Croatian National Theatre (HNK).
Radio Taxi Zagreb charges a starting rate of 9.90 HRK / 1.32 €. Each kilometer after that is 4.90 HRK / 0.66 €. Phone: 060 800 800 or 1777 from a Croatian number (there is a fee to call both of these numbers).
The starting rate for Taxi Cammeo is 15 HRK / 2.00 €, but that includes two free kilometers. Every kilometer after that is 6.00 HRK / 0.80 €. Phone: 060 7100 (there is a fee to call this number) or 1212 from a Croatian number.
EkoTaxi charges a starting rate of 8.80 HRK / 1.18 € and 5.00 HRK / 0.67 € per kilometer. Phone: 060 7777 or 1414 from Croatian numbers (there is fee to call both of these numbers).

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Registration desk

The registration desk will be located on the ground floor in the foyer of SRCE at the E-learning Centre. The registration desk will open on Tuesday, 10th June at 15.00. Delegates are advised to register and pick up their Conference Bag before the Welcome Reception. Please do not forget to bring your printed badge to complete the registration procedure.

Arrive well in time to register, in order to avoid the crowds and to enjoy the welcome.

Welcome Reception

Tuesday 10th June, the Welcome Reception will start at 18.30. Fingerfood and wine will be served in the Botanical Garden of the University of Zagreb. The EDEN Fellow award will be presented during the reception. The Botanical Garden is located in the centre of Zagreb, 20 minute walk from SRCE. A limited capacity transport will be available form SRCE at 18.00.

Conference Dinner

Thursday, 12th June. For delegates who have booked for the event. The Dinner organised in Restaurant Okrugljak is combined with a folklore programme at the beginning, and it has an additional charge of 55 € per person. The EDEN Best Research Paper Award will be presented at the event.
If you have not booked yet, you can do on the online registration form or after registration by sending an email to zagreb@eden-online.org. Payment should be prearranged by bank transfer or credit card.
Three busses will be organized to the venue (included in the dinner fee), leaving at 18.45 from SRCE. Please wear your badge when you come to the dinner since the barcode indicates the booking which will be checked for being admitted to the dinner.

Lunch / Coffee Breaks

Lunches and coffees are included for all registered participants.

Services available in the Conference Venue

Garage: 7.00-21.00 – 6 KN/hour, 0-24.00 – 115 KN/day, 8.00-18.00 – 40 KN.
The wifi connection in the Hypo center is a symmetrical 25/25 Mbs bandwidth. In SRCE, there will be eduroam and public wifi as well.
The nearest ATM is located in Hypo Center.

Insurance / Liability

Neither the organizer nor the congress office can be held liable for loss, injury or damage to any person or property or for any additional expenditure incurred due to changes, whatever the causes. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance.

Name Badges

The electronic version of the name badge was sent to the delegates by e-mail after receiving their registration fee. All participants are required to wear their badges at all times for admission to the conference and its facilities. Thinking green, EDEN aims to collect recyclable materials. Therefore we would appreciate, if the delegates would return their badges to the registration desk before leaving the conference on Friday.
