EDEN intends to bring together differing points of view with a debate approach and speakers who back up their points of view with sound research.
We invite all interested professionals to take part and discover the Workshop Themes by submitting their proposals.
Submissions should make relevant contribution to the field and meet the customary academic requirements: clear aims/questions, methodology, contextualisation, results, conclusions and implications, references.
Full text submissions are awaited in English, with careful language check. You are invited to send a one-page summary for the Book of Abstracts, included in the file of your proposal, separately indicated as ‘Summary for the printed Book of Abstracts’.
Submissions that relate to the Workshop Scope and one or more of the Workshop Themes are invited in the following categories by the deadline: 25 September 2012. You are encouraged to submit your proposal earlier than 25 September to support a speedy evaluation of the proposals and enhance your possibility to register early in time.
Contributions received will be continuously evaluated and authors informed accordingly.
Submission Categories
Paper presentations can be submitted presenting research results or reviews existing results including empirical or theoretical studies, policy reviews, comprehensive case studies, presentation of project results in their conclusive phase.
Workshops ? introducing a comprehensive theme from different perspectives, focused sessions on a particular topic, debates, discussions ? are invited.
Posters are welcome about work-in-progress, achievements of initial research, projects in early stages of development, case studies, etc. Poster presentations will be themed in related sessions.
Demonstrations can showcase practical innovation, products, technologies and tools, to encourage the early exhibition of prototypes, focusing on user experience. They will offer opportunity to show and discuss, to exchange ideas and collect feedback from expert users.

For students – full time studies, age limit 35 years – special fees, exceptionally free registration will be available.
Selection
Acceptance of submissions is done by double peer-review. Evaluation will be based primarily on originality, significance and quality of contribution, on the proposal?s relevance to the conference themes, further the experience and knowledge of the applicants. However, innovative contributions not fitting into the conference themes will also be considered if they may bring benefit to delegates.
Publication
Abstracts of accepted presentations (including posters) will be published in the Book of Abstracts. Registered delegates will have electronic access to the full version of contributions prior to the conference.
Acknowledgement of quality and excellence
Tradition of awarding the EDEN Best Research Paper will be continued. The selection process takes place in collaboration with the Ulrich Bernath Foundation for Research in Open and Distance Learning.
